Everyone finds it hard to love themselves. From the minute that we are born, society throws it’s propaganda in our faces. Maybe some of the influences are obvious, but many of them are subtle. So subtle that we don’t even realize that we are ingesting the nonsense. In every different culture and country, we are showed standards. These standards are supposed to resemble success, happiness, acceptance, and most of all, perfection. Meeting these standards has become such a crucial part of human nature, that acceptance, let alone loving who we are is unheard of.
Today, I want to tell my story of navigating this societal jungle.

Let’s face it. We’ve all done it, even if it’s just once. We’ve looked at someone and thought “At least I’m not THAT big.”
Well, hey. *Waves* I’m your big friend and I’ve been playing that role for the majority of my life, supplying you with the security that it’s ok you couldn’t fit into your size ten jeans this morning, because at least you’re not as big as me. And that makes you feel better, right? Of course it does.
It’s strange. The one place where having shitty mental health has actually helped me is self image. What others think of me aesthetically has become less and less important as I try to fix the way I see the kind of person I am.
I’m fat. I’ve always been fat and I will probably always be fat. ‘Fat’ is not a terrible word to me and I can happily and confidently say that I would rather be fat and me than thin and anyone else.
